Predator-Prey Relation
- Sea otters EAT Kelp along with mollusk to keep the population of the Kelp and mollusk down. Kelp is the primary prey for the Sea Otter and with it around, the population of Kelp does not go rapid.
- Kelp and is EATEN by Salmon, Crabs, Sea mussels. Krill is also eaten by Salmon along with zooplankton.
- Humpback whales EAT small schooling fish & Krill. An average-sized humpback whale will eat 4,400-5,500 pounds (2000-2500 kg) of plankton, krill and small, schooling fish each day during the feeding season in cold waters (about 120 days) and they eat twice a day.
- Bald Eagles EAT Kittlitz Murrelet (duck) and fish. But even though they are mainly fish eaters, they will take ducks and birds or whatever prey is available and easiest to obtain. Bald eagles which live along the coast and on major lakes and rivers feed mainly on fish. Bald eagles fish in both fresh and salt water.
- Kittlitz Murrelet (duck) EAT small schooling fish. Kittlitz's Murrelets dive for their prey, often in groups, or in the company of other species. While fish such as Capelin, Sandlance, and herring are preferred, the birds have also been observed feeding on macro-zooplankton and various invertebrates.
- Invertebrates EAT algae.
- Algae MAKES its own food.
